A turning point in my son’s life

Thoughts about Naoise and Homework Club and how it benefitted My son:

Meeting Naoise was a turning point in my son’s life. He was at a point where he was isolated and in despair and seemed trapped, boxed in. Attending the Homework club in a way opened a door, shining light on his abilities and helping him see an outside world where he could belong.

Naoise was brimming with enthusiasm and ideas. Most importantly she inculcated in my son a sense of self-belief and knowledge of his strengths. Without this I very much doubt he would have achieved as much as he has today. He now seems to have a vision for his future and I am amazed at how focused he has become as his sense of achievement has grown.

Attending the Homework club gave my son structure and a sense of purpose as he had largely withdrawn from school. Naoise took immense care in composing groups of students who would learn and develop well together. She also chose teachers with care so they would match the students. She was insightful in detecting the nature of problems in school and was always very willing to discuss progress and give me more insight as regards stress and dyslexia. This was important so that I could support my son as well as possible at home. Naoise was incredibly prescient in relation to what would or wouldn’t work for my son and this was proven time and again in state exam results. What was achieved was beyond all expectations.

I will be forever grateful to Naoise and her team for the invaluable contribution they have made to my son’s life and in the process also mine.
